The Toronto Raptors’ injury list is becoming longer and longer. Toronto may be missing Pascal Siakam on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, following an exceptionally healthy start to the season. The team said that he appeared on the injury report as questionable due to back spasms. In a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, Siakam scored 25 points in 32 minutes of play.
Jakob Poeltl, whose left ankle sprain has kept him out indefinitely, will already be missing from the Raptors. He stepped awkwardly on Siakam’s foot during the weekend, which resulted in the injury. Otto Porter Jr.’s right knee strain has also eliminated him from the game. Prior to Tuesday’s game, he had been marked as doubtful, but he was promptly ruled out for Wednesday. In the event that Siakam is out, Gary Trent Jr. of Toronto is likely to start in place of Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Thad Young. Toronto decided to start Young in place of the injured Poeltl for the first time this season. Chris Boucher and Jontay Porter’s increased playing time have put Toronto’s depth to the test recently. Siakam’s injury might force Jalen McDaniels back into the starting lineup.
The only player absent for the Clippers will be Moussa Diabate, who has a fractured right hand. The Raptors were favored by +10.5 points against the Clippers, but the betting line has been changed. With +355 odds to win, Toronto has a 22% chance of winning.
