Louisville hopes to add a tight end via the transfer portal. According to sources, they are closing in on an intriguing candidate for the role.
I’ve logged a 247Sports Transfer Portal prediction in favor of the Cardinals for former Miami tight end Jaleel Skinner after speaking with a person with knowledge of the issue.
Auburn has also expressed interest in the 6-foot-5, 210-pound Skinner. Louisville’s recruiting coordinator, John Herron, has led the charge.
Skinner caught nine catches for 129 yards and a touchdown as a freshman in 2022, appearing in nine games. Skinner appeared in just two games his sophomore season, catching one pass for nine yards. This served as his redshirt season, allowing him three more years of eligibility.
Skinner was ranked as the nation’s No. 4 tight end and No. 100 prospect overall by 247Sports after graduating from high school.
Louisville now has the No. 4 transfer portal class according to 247Sports. The Cardinals are infusing a lot of talent into a program that reached the ACC championship game in Jeff Brohm’s first year.
