ESPN NEWS FLASH: Kalen DeBoer’s finally hired as Alabama’s head coach and his introduction scheduled

It’s official: Kalen DeBoer has been appointed head coach of Alabama. The presentation of Nick Saban’s replacement for Tuscaloosa is now planned.

DeBoer will address the media on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Following the coach’s planned Friday night arrival in Tuscaloosa is the news conference.

ESPN stated that the Crimson Tide will have a team gathering at their facility following DeBoer’s landing. After Saban’s retirement, players were given an additional 30-day window for undergraduate admission, and they are now able to access the transfer portal.
On Wednesday, the man who won six national championships with the Crimson Tide and one more at LSU declared his retirement. Following a search, Greg Byrne chose Washington head coach DeBoer to succeed him.

Last season, DeBoer guided the Huskies to a national championship game appearance. After dominating the regular season, Washington advanced to the Pac-12 championship game, defeated Texas in the Sugar Bowl, and lost to Michigan in the championship match.

On August 31, Alabama will play Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium in the first game of the DeBoer era.
