GOOD NEWS: Browns GM pulls classy move after Cleveland’s loss to Texans

Andrew Berry, general manager of the Cleveland Browns, garnered plaudits after his team’s season ended Saturday with a 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans.

As the Browns’ players, coaches, and staff entered the locker room at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, the executive made sure to acknowledge each and every one of them.

Berry shook their hands and congratulated them on a successful season.
After entering Wild Card Weekend as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, the Browns witnessed their season go up in flames against the Texans.

Browns quarterback Joe Flacco came into the game with a 4-0 record in his previous four outings. Cleveland’s surprising playoff berth was led by the Comeback Player of the Year candidate. Flacco, on the other hand, threw back-to-back pick-sixes in the third quarter to cement the Browns’ destiny.
Cleveland’s 2023 season fared more better than anyone might have predicted given the conditions. Injury to Pro Bowlers Nick Chubb and Deshaun Watson might have easily spelled the end of the team’s postseason ambitions.

Instead, the Browns and their feared defence held firm, finishing 11-6. The Browns were even picked as favourites over the Texans to progress to the Divisional Round, which made several analysts appear foolish in retrospect.

The Browns simply did not have enough in the tank to defeat the Texans. But the fact that they got thus far definitely gained them the respect of their GM.
