BREAKING NEWS: Package Deal: A Raptors insider reveals the Golden State Warriors are in talks to make a blockbuster deal with Pascal Siakam in advance of the NBA trade deadline on February 8.

In the NBA, it’s a strange new world where players talk freely about front-office decisions that other clubs should make.

In a recent installment of “Podcast P with Paul George,” the Los Angeles Clippers player discussed the rumours that the Golden State Warriors are interested in Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam in advance of the NBA trade deadline on February 8.

George gave the Bay Area team encouragement to complete the trade by outlining why the trade of Jonathan Kuminga for Siakam and Jonathan Kuminga for the Warriors would “be a win” for both clubs. George admitted that in order to justify the wages, Golden State would need to add one of two players: Andrew Wiggins or Chris Paul.

George remarked, “I saw them putting Pascal and Kuminga in a trade [rumour].” As I gave it some thought, I concluded that both parties had won. Golden State would definitely need to contribute more simply to make up for the salary gap in the contract.

Although Siakam isn’t the finest in that specific area, he can be the best option. Given that he is a versatile man, I believe that being the second or third option is where he truly shines. Playing with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, in my opinion, works great because they spread the floor, he can rebound, and he can playmake.

However, George thinks the Raptors, who are revamping their roster with Kuminga, 21, would gain just as much by having him join the group of young players that already includes Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley.

George went on, “Kuminga is coming into his own.” “Toronto is rebuilding, but they are also focused on winning right away. They recently acquired RJ and Quickley, and they have Scottie Barnes.” If you include Kuminga and another young player, that team might be entertaining for years to come.

While there have been conflicting rumours about the Warriors moving on from Kuminga, a recent report from NBA insider Shams Charania indicated that “everyone but Stephen Curry” is on the table as it pertains to trade conversations. The Raptors, on the other hand, are said to have been actively pursuing Siakam despite their high asking price for the two-time All-Star.

The Raptors (15-24) and Warriors (18-21) are both trying to improve their situations before the NBA trade deadline because they are now not in the running for a play-in spot.
