INTERESTING: Senior wide receiver Roman Wilson declaration for the NFL Draft

Senior wide receiver Roman Wilson announced on X Sunday that he will enter the NFL Draft.

Wilson, known for his dazzling quickness, had a career senior season for the Wolverines. Wilson emerged as the No. 1 target for junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy, leading all pass-catchers with 48 receptions, 789 yards, and 12 touchdowns. While Michigan remained with the grit-and-grind rushing mentality that led to success the previous two seasons, the Wolverines aired it out a little more this season. Wilson was a major factor for this.

Wilson came through in crucial times thanks to his ability to go loose in space. Wilson made a couple important grabs in Michigan’s down-to-the-wire overtime win over Alabama in the Rose Bowl to punch its ticket to the National Championship, including prancing in — jazz hands and all — for a game-tying touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter.

While his speed is most noticeable, Wilson also employs physicality. He aims to be a well-rounded prospect entering the NFL, whether it’s in run blocking, mossing a defender for a touchdown at Nebraska, or snagging a tight-window score versus Ohio State.

“Thank you to the people of Hawaii for raising a respectful young man.” “I’m so proud and honoured to be able to represent the 808 and will always do so,” Wilson wrote in his Instagram post. “I am grateful to the University of Michigan for providing me with some of the most unforgettable memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life.” With that said… I have officially decided to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Wilson joins a growing list of Wolverines players who are sacrificing their last year of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft, including McCarthy and running back Blake Corum.
