Bill Belichick has been interviewed by the Atlanta Falcons for the position of head coach. There are many who think it happened the opposite way around.
The Falcons, who sacked head coach Arthur Smith following Week 18, revealed on Monday via X that they had spoken with Belichick. The veteran head coach of the New England Patriots was one of six applicants that Atlanta brought in for a meeting.

Mike Macdonald of the Baltimore Ravens and Steve Wilks of the San Francisco 49ers were the other defensive coordinators in the pool.
Following the release of information about Belichick’s interview, a number of football enthusiasts and commentators expressed similar opinions. After spending 24 years with the Patriots, many thought it was Belichick who was scouting the Falcons as a possible destination.
Even though Belichick might be considering Atlanta as a destination, the Falcons could see fierce opposition in the coming weeks. According to reports, the six-time Super Bowl champion has good reason to deliberate on his next team selection. It’s already assumed that one of the eliminated NFC teams will be interested in Belichick.
