GOOD NEWS: Louisville Cardinals beats Wake 83-62

Wake Forest is currently 4-13, but they played the Cards close for a quarter. Wake, though, was unable to contain Louisville below, and they finally withdrew. It also provided Coach Walz with an opportunity to play the bench together. We’ve been receiving a lot of youngsters’ minutes because, in my opinion, we’re that well-balanced, he stated. Overall, we accomplished a lot today, even if we also made some mistakes. Six of our sixteen turnovers occurred in the fourth quarter due to illogical plays. While some of them need to make the most of their playing time, others wish to play more.
Six athletes scored ten or more points. Olivia Cochran and Jayda Curry shared the team’s top score of twelve. Sydney Taylor possessed eleven. Merissah Russell, Nyla Harris, and Kiki Jefferson each scored eleven points.

Olivia stated, “We knew they would be more physical because they had an advantage over us because they won last year, but we just needed to execute what we can do. We played Wake last year and lost. Even if we acted carelessly at times, I think we managed to stick together and win the game today.

Nyla stated, “As players, we have to make sure that we don’t fall to anyone else’s level and that we stay true to our game plan. The strategy should always be forceful and aggressive because, as Coach Walz frequently says, if you strike someone before they go in for the rebound, they will almost never try for the second one because you have already set the standard.

“All in all, we played a pretty good basketball game,” stated Coach Walz. We lost 62 points, and I’m not happy about that, especially the 21 in the fourth. However, we’re shooting the ball well offensively; all we need to do is reduce the number of careless mistakes we make to increase our scoring chances. “We have to get rid of the ones where we are taking the ball out of bounds and being careless,” he continued.

The Cards then headed out on the road. On Thursday, the 18th, they first make their way to Clemson. The game airs on ACCNX and starts at 7 p.m.
