HUGE UPDATE: Insider Reveals Surprising Update on Zack Wheeler Trade Talks

Apart from offering manager Rob Thomson a contract extension and re-signing Aaron Nola to a seven-year contract, the Philadelphia Phillies have had a rather quiet offseason.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Phillies make a few more changes, though, especially in the starting rotation, where they have another Cy Young candidate who is overdue for a pay raise, given that spring training begins next month.

Why Zack Wheeler didn't start Game 1 of World Series

Wheeler has been one of the top pitchers in the majors and National League since moving to Philadelphia.

Wheeler had a 13–6 record with a 3.61 ERA in 32 starts during the previous campaign. In 192 innings pitched, he also recorded 212 strikeouts, which is the second-highest number in his career. The seasoned starter’s ERA in his first three Phillies seasons was under 3.00.

Wheeler has established himself as a consistent contender for the Cy Young award and has also been an incredible pitcher in the postseason. The Phillies may return to the postseason and potentially win the National League pennant (+700 on FanDuel Sportsbook) for the second time in the previous three years if Nola and Wheeler can keep the ball in the yard this season.
