Masai Ujiri, the president of the Toronto Raptors, has already called it quits on the campaign with his club at 15–25. Right now, Canada needs to reconstruct itself entirely.
This is further complicated by the two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam’s trade to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, which included three future first-round picks in the deal.
Additionally, Toronto moved standout forward OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks, their conference foe, in a historic trade in late December.
It’s safe to say that Toronto will make further deals before the NBA trade deadline on February 8. The team’s veteran roster may draw interest from competitors in the association. We examine three such players who might be dealt here in the coming weeks below.

A 28-year-old centre who has already reached his ceiling and lacks a true perimeter game should not be retained at all. Of course, Poeltl has performed well this year, with a league-best.685 shooting percentage. However, his offensive production is minimal (10.5 PPG).
Poeltl’s kind of player is a special addition to any competitive squad. Some people are looking to buy a big one like the veteran. This is just speculation, but the Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, and New Orleans Pelicans may all make sense.
Dennis Schroder leaves the city before the NBA trade deadline.
After the Anunoby deal, the Toronto Raptors acquired Immanuel Quickley, which should render this seasoned point guard expendable. In eight games (all starts) for Toronto, Quickley, 24, is averaging 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. Up north, he’s the future for this position.
For a Raptors squad that is currently gathering assets, there is also some encouraging news on this front. With 2023–24 paying $13.03 million, Schroder, 30, will only have one more year left on his contract. Because of this, he becomes somewhat of an appealing option for teams in contention before the NBA trade deadline. Obtaining a few second-round selections and a salary filler could be the minimum outcome in this situation.
