Either Caleb Downs is crystalballed to land in Athens, or Georgia Football has crystalballed to land Caleb Downs. Regardless your perspective, Georgia is the front-runner to inherit the former Alabama seat. It would be a clear message to Kalen DeBoer and Alabama if Kirby Smart were to sign one of the top assistant coaches and players on the team.
I’m having a great time despite the fact that this is one of the worst football seasons in Alabama history. Now that Downs’s injury has been reported on the site, it appears as though every starter and five-star recruit for Alabama is quitting. The show appears to be getting out of hand, and Alabama fans are experiencing a severe identity crisis. Let’s start by examining how they manage players quitting and using the transfer portal.
It’s not like Jameson Williams, Jermaine Burton, Trezman Marshall, and numerous other players that switched from one program to Alabama. Yes, Bama fans, it’s not pleasant when the bunny is holding the gun. However, what did you expect from Alabama supporters? Georgia’s 2022 national championship was deemed “fake” by this fan group due to their lack of depth in the wideout room.
Additionally, this is the fan base that remarks, “Built by Bama,” if Georgia achieves any degree of success. Because Kirby Smart was an assistant coach at Alabama for eight years prior, Alabama supporters figure it out. Do you guys think they just passed by the word modicum or did they have to search it up?
Then, after learning that T-Rob was leaving, Alabama fans responded. They were obviously not offended by this and were overjoyed that one of their instructors had chosen the course that would be best for his family and life!
Well, they weren’t. Fans of Alabama are struggling with their identity. They find it hard to comprehend why Alabama’s stunning crimson A does not attract athletes and coaches in droves. In actuality, Nick Saban is not larger than Alabama. Great coaches and athletes came to Tuscaloosa because Saban was greater than Alabama. That was also the case during Bear Bryant’s tenure.
Georgia has remained stable over the years for this reason. The Dawgs have a devoted fan base, coaches that are identified with the program, and one of the best college towns in the country. When our great coaches depart, Georgia has never had the kind of precipitous declines that Alabama has. This is upsetting the Alabama fans who are reading it.
In any case, I fully anticipate that Downs and a few other Alabama guys will sign with the Dawgs. Therefore, I’m happy that all of those fan bases—including Alabama fans—got behind us. For many, Georgia’s ascent to prominence in college football is a terrifying prospect. Appreciate the show!
