BREAKING NEWS: Georgia has momentum with top-ranked 2026 prospect Jared Curtis, Oregon getting next scheduled visit

Jared Curtis, a quarterback from Nashville (Tenn.) Christian School and 247Sports’ top prospect in the 2026 class, is a prospect whose recruitment has shifted due to a recent trip to Georgia and a change in the Ohio State coaching staff.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Curtis, who is still working through his process, gives the Bulldogs momentum right now. They are also happy about recent developments with Oklahoma, which may be the next institution to offer a scholarship, and Oregon, which is one of the newest programs to offer one.

Julian Sayin, a five-star true freshman quarterback out of Alabama, joined the transfer portal on Friday, dropping a recruiting bombshell. Sayin was one of the top recruits in the Tide’s 2024 class and an early enrollee. However, he only stayed on campus for a few weeks before deciding to quit the program following Nick Saban’s retirement. Austin Mack, a former Washington quarterback, joined the Tide’s quarterback room on Thursday as new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer swiftly decided to revamp it.

Sayin is now in the portal, and sources tell 247Sports Ohio State has a great chance of obtaining him.

“I’d be shocked if he didn’t end up at Ohio State,” one Sayin source stated.

Chris Hummer, Tom Loy, and Steve Wiltfong are the three Transfer Portal Crystal Ball picks in for Sayin to the Buckeyes. Loy made the initial Crystal Ball selection that would lead Sayin to Columbus.

Jared Curtis, 2026 Quarterback

“Ohio State is my 247Sports Crystal Ball,” Loy penned on Friday for VIP members. “Reliable sources have stated that there was talk that the Buckeyes were interested as soon as it was discovered that Sayin was using the portal. Conversely, we’ve been informed that Sayin is very interested in Ohio State, particularly in light of the arrival of Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator. Recall that Sayin was really recruited to Tuscaloosa by O’Brien.

The relationship with O’Brien is crucial. His friendship with Sayin dates back many years, to the time when Sayin was Alabama’s offensive coordinator and O’Brien started recruiting him. After the 2022 season, O’Brien left the Tide to assume the same position with the New England Patriots.

Loy suggests keeping a watch on Sayin at USC, Texas A&M, LSU, and Georgia, among other universities.
