BREAKING NEWS: Steelers Are Going for QB Hunting and they don’t care how they find it

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expecting that Kenny Pickett will start at quarterback for them in 2024, but Mike Tomlin, the team’s head coach, has acknowledged that the squad needs competition following their recent campaign.

Who will be the Steelers' next head coach after Mike Tomlin? | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Mason Rudolph is their top pick in that competition, but Tomlin made it clear several times during his year-end news conference that Rudolph is a free agent. It might not imply anything, but it might also indicate that he’s moving on to something better, like a better job or a larger salary.
The Steelers still want competition even if he is gone. This might occur at the NFL Draft, which Tomlin will scout to make sure the team doesn’t pass up a star player. It might also result via a trade or free agency.

It’s difficult to rule out the Steelers making a play for the right name at the right price, especially with Omar Khan leading the team for a second season.

Whatever the outcome, one thing is certain: in order to find a quarterback to challenge Pickett, the Steelers will begin quarterback hunting.
