ESPN NEWS UPDATE: The Florida Gators are being investigated by the NCAA over their high-profile recruitment of Jaden Rashada, which ended in a mess.

The NCAA is looking into the Florida Gators’ controversial decision to hire Jaden Rashada, which went horribly wrong.

On June 9, Florida received a notice of inquiry into the issue from the NCAA. The letter made no mention of Rashada or the specifics of the infraction; nonetheless, reports on Friday have indicated that Rashada is connected to the probe.

A Name, Image, and Likeness contract that supposedly would have paid Rashada $13.85 million over four years purportedly lured him to join with Florida. But once the agreement fell through, he requested to be freed from the Letter of Intent he had signed in December 2022.

Since then, the Gator Collective, which was responsible for setting up the agreement with Rashada that went through, has closed.

In January, Rashada was finally released by Florida from his letter of intent. Afterwards, the quarterback committed to Arizona State and participated in Sun Devil football.

In his three games for ASU in 2023, Rashada completed passes for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
