BREAKING NEWS: Browns Insider Reveal Brown Have Reportedly Offered RB Coach Position To 1 Person

The Cleveland Browns and head coach Kevin Stefanski dismissed several offensive coaches earlier this week.

Stump Mitchell, the running backs coach, was one of the people let go.

The team has conducted interviews with potential replacements for Mitchell over the last few days, including Duce Staley, the running backs coach and current associate head coach of the Carolina Panthers.

The franchise will extend an employment offer to Staley, according to Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot, via the Faithful Dawgs Podcast on Twitter.

The New York Jets will also make an offer for Staley, according to Faithful Dawgs’ tweet.

Staley played for a trouble-plagued Carolina team during the previous campaign.

First-year head coach Frank Reich was sacked following a 1-10 start, and Chris Tabor was elevated to the position of interim head coach for the balance of the campaign.

In just the last two years, the Panthers have gone through four head coaches, and they finished 2023 with a 2-15 record.

Staley spent 2021 and 2022 as the running backs coach and associate head coach for the Detroit Lions before moving to Carolina.

He collaborated with running backs like Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift during that time.

Staley was a running back, special teams player, and assistant head coach with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011 to 2020.

Among the backs Staley coached in Philadelphia were LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, DeMarco Murray, LeGarrette Blount, and Miles Sanders.

As the majority of ardent football fans are aware, Staley was a running back for the Eagles from 1997 to 2003 and the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004 to 2006 before to becoming a coach.

Staley amassed 5,785 total running yards and 24 total rushing touchdowns during his playing career.
