BREAKING NEWS: Bruce Brown on Knicks trade rumors:I’m Tom Thibodeau’s type of player

After winning the NBA title with the Nuggets the previous season, Brown recently inked a two-year, $45 million contract with the Pacers.

However, given that the Raptors appear to be focused on rebuilding, Brown may soon be moving again.

According to ESPN, the Knicks are among the top clubs interested in the 27-year-old, as the absence of Quickley has left a void on their bench.
Before signing with the Pacers, Brown claimed to have spoken with the Knicks.

Toronto Raptors forward Bruce Brown (11) drives to the basket against New York Knicks guard Quentin Grimes (6) during the second half of an NBA basketball game in New York, Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024.

Even though the Knicks were eventually unable to match Indiana’s offer, Brown discovered that Thibodeau had long been a fan of his.

“I play really hard,” Brown remarked. “I believe that [I am] the kind of player that he enjoys.”

Furthermore, Brown has always admired Thibodeau.

Brown remarked, “I go up to him and shake his hand every time we play Thibs, just because of what he’s done.” “Just respect for thieves, nothing more.”
Brown disclosed that he believed Thibodeau, who was the Timberwolves’ president and coach at the time, would select him in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Rather than selecting Brown, the Timberwolves selected Josh Okogie in the second round, and the Pistons selected him.

Negotiations this past offseason were particularly difficult for the Knicks, who could only muster the mid-level exception at roughly $12.4 million per year.

However, general manager Leon Rose can now provide Thibodeau another reliable horse, which the coach greatly desires.
Notably, a lawsuit between the Knicks and Raptors is still pending, but it did not stop the Anunoby transaction.

Bruce Brown #11 of the Toronto Raptors dribbles as Julius Randle #30 of the New York Knicks defends during the second half at Madison Square Garden on January 20, 2024 in New York City.

This season, Brown is scoring 12.1 points per game on 48% of his field goals and 33% of his 3-pointers.

Brown said, “Just hoop, control what I can control, and try not to pay attention to it.” “It’s out of my control whether or not I get moved again.”

If Brown were dealt to the Knicks, it would be obvious that he is accustomed to the New York city having spent two seasons with the Nets.
And it doesn’t even seem to bother him.

Brown declared, “I adore New York.” Before I arrived here, I detested New York, but as soon as I did, I fell in love with it. You are free to do whatever you want at any time. Fantastic city, fantastic restaurants—I’m glad to be back.
