SAD NEWS: Another great departure as Titans player makes a hint about leaving in the next NFL free agency

After an outstanding eight years as a running back for the Tennessee Titans, Derrick Henry is expected to enter NFL free agency for the first time.

The two-time NFL rushing champion appears to be moving to a different city for the upcoming year.

During a guest interview on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast (via Pro Football Talk), Henry, 30, discussed his impending free agency. Henry didn’t hold back when expressing his preferences regarding free agency.

“I want to be in a position where I have the best chance of winning the Super Bowl, no matter what happens. It’s the business side, that’s all. Ultimately, everything must make sense. We put our bodies through a lot during this lengthy season, so I won’t just take anything. However, I also want to be a part of a team that can go out there, position itself, win games, make the playoffs, and challenge for a championship.

Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans is a free agent.
Tennessee recently concluded an unimpressive six-win campaign. Unexpectedly, Mike Vrabel was sacked as head coach, which infuriated Henry.

“Whoa. Whoa. I’m taken aback. Coach Vrabel leads by example. He is an excellent instructor and coach. Following Vrabel’s dismissal, Henry remarked, “I know he will get another opportunity right away.”

Derrick Henry wants to go to a Super Bowl contender

Henry will probably need to accept a below-market contract in order to make it work if his objective is to sign with a championship contender.

Henry recently signed a $50 million, four-year contract with the Titans. The running back has reached the age of 30, so it is extremely unlikely that he would receive a contract that long. We are fully aware of the current state of play in the running-back market. Henry, who is over thirty, is undoubtedly considering a shorter-term arrangement.

This is pure speculation. But King Henry might very well make sense with a squad like the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the NFL trade deadline in-season, they were connected to him.
