GREAT ADDITION: An insider reveals falcons are in contract negotiations with a young QB set to be announced.

An ambitious trade package involving Justin Fields is predicted by an NFL Insider; the original report debuted on NBC Sports Chicago.

By appointing Shane Waldron as the team’s new offensive coordinator, the Bears crossed off one item on their extensive offseason to-do list. But they haven’t even begun to cross off their most important box.

Do the Bears want to draft a new signal caller and trade Justin Fields, or will they decide to keep him? According to an ESPN NFL insider, Fields will be traded by the Bears in exchange for an intriguing return.

“Big prediction for the offseason: The Falcons will use [Kyle] Pitts as part of a package to pry quarterback Justin Fields away from the Bears before Chicago uses the No. 1 overall pick on a new starting quarterback,” said Aaron Schatz.

The Atlanta Falcons are the team mentioned most frequently in relation to Fields’ trade rumours.

Fields, a native of Georgia, seemed to be unhappy with Desmond Ridder’s performance. The Falcons are currently without a head coach, but the next one will have to deal with the quarterback problem.

The Bears will undoubtedly deal Fields if they are “blown away” by a quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Reports state that most believe his market has a ceiling that is comparable to a second-round selection, if not higher on the back end.

However, if the Falcons are willing to part ways with their tight end, the Pitts would add an intriguing wrinkle.

The 23-year-old Pitts was selected by the Falcons seven picks ahead of Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft, which marked his entry into the league. He spent three seasons as a player for the Falcons. However, those haven’t been the most pleasant times of the year.

5 Takeaways: A setback for Justin Fields accompanies tough loss in Atlanta - Marquee Sports Network

Pitts recorded 68 receptions for a little over 1,000 yards in his debut performance. He did, however, only record one touchdown reception. Regretfully, he hasn’t ended with as many yards combined in the last two seasons as he did in his debut year, raising questions about his ability going forward.

Among Ja’Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Micah Parsons, and other players in the 2021 NFL draft class, Pitts was regarded as the best athlete. Unfortunately, three seasons into his career, he hasn’t lived up to the hype. But is that a result of his play or of Atlanta’s coaching changes?

Should the Bears allow Fields to enter the trade market, they will have a plethora of choices at their disposal. Would the Pitts tempt the Bears to make a move?
