ESPN NEWS UPDATE: NFL insiders reveals Commanders are in Advance Contract negotiation with Top NFL Coach – and its Good news to the Commanderr

Is Eric Bieniemy, the Commanders’ current offensive coordinator, the best candidate to take over as head coach?

Why aren’t supporters taking offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy more seriously since he has interviewed for the head coaching position with the Washington Commanders?

Acting as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, Bieniemy had interviews for additional head coaching positions in prior seasons. But this off-season, only the Commanders have given him an interview with any degree of consideration.

Bieniemy’s lack of offensive play calling under Andy Reid was a common way to cast doubt on his suitability as a head coach, but in Washington this past season, he was in charge of making the decisions.

Regretfully, greater success did not follow greater control. The expectation was that in his seventeenth head coaching interview since 2019, he would have achieved success that would have solidified him as a viable candidate for the position. However, Reid was largely credited for the Chiefs’ offensive success, and the Commanders weren’t a dominant team this season with him calling plays.

Sam Howell, the rookie quarterback for Washington, averaged 280 passing yards per week while calling plays over the first ten weeks of the season. However, he would struggle at the conclusion of the season, as the offence finished 25th in scoring (19.4 points per game) and 24th in yards (312.8%).

It’s reasonable to wonder how much of that was due to the fact that this was his first season calling plays for the team, though. There is hope that the squad will improve with more time as they grow accustomed to his system and the young guys receive more playing time in the NFL. After all, he did bring a minor score increase.

Bieniemy The interview process is now more important than ever because, as an internal candidate, it indicates that the company values him and isn’t merely following the Rooney rule, which mandates that teams looking to hire head coaches interview candidates of colour from outside the building.
Bieniemy is among the most successful head coach candidates available, and after years of assisting in creating a winning atmosphere in Kansas City, he is the ideal choice for Washington as a leader who can establish a culture.

Perhaps Commanders supporters don’t think he’s the most intriguing new head coach. Yet, Bieniemy might be the right man to turn this team around and make it a postseason contender, similar to what the Houston Texans did with rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans.
