BREAKING NEWS: Louisville offers Ohio tight end during visit – Deal now seen very close

Cross Nimmo, a tight end at Mentor, Ohio’s Lake Catholic High School, visited Louisville in September for the Notre Dame game. Nimmo left that game impressed with the University of Louisiana football program and staff following the victory over the Irish and the supporters’ storming of the field.

On Tuesday night, Nimmo returned to Louisville. And this time, he departed with something – an offer.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Class of 2025 recruit paid a visit to the Cardinals’ Junior Day event, which included a trip to the KFC Yum Centre to watch Louisville play Duke in basketball. He received the offer after speaking with University of Louisville coaches Jeff Brohm and Ryan Wallace, tight ends coach.
Nimmo claimed he currently has 11 bids on the table.

“They told me that I fit the offence well when they offered me,” Nimmo said in a statement. “I loved the visit great being around all the coaches and talking to them and learning about the program.”

Nimmo, who also played baseball and basketball at Lake Catholic, began attracting college interest last spring. He received initial offers from Toledo and Bowling Green before accepting his first Power 5 offer from Minnesota in early May. He’s subsequently received offers from Ohio, Marshall, Arkansas State, UConn, Kent State, East Carolina, and Akron.

The University of Louisville staff has been in communication with him since last summer, and he travelled to Notre Dame for the game in September.
“That was an electric game with a crazy environment,” Nimmo went on to say. “I like what Coach Brohm had to say today and I like that he wants to see his players succeed in the program.”

As a junior, Nimmo had 29 receptions for 791 yards and 15 touchdowns. He averaged 27.3 yards per reception.
