WARMINSTER, Pennsylvania – Five-star shooting guard Jalil Bethea of Warminster, Pennsylvania (Archbishop Wood), a Miami signee, has been named a McDonald’s All-American.
The 47th McDonald’s All-American Game, which will take place on April 2 at the Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas, has chosen Bethea as its sixth Hurricane.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Bethea is the sixth-best prospect in the country and will be a member of the East team.
The majority of the athletes I watched in high school who I really like were in that game, so it means a lot, Bethea said.
Lonnie Walker was the last Hurricane to participate in the match in 2017. In addition, Dewan Hernandez (2016), Darius Rice (2000), Steve Edwards (1992), and Tito Horford (1985) are other former Hurricanes who participated in the game.
Bethea has further personal objectives in mind.
“This year, I want to win the MVP award in the PCL (Philadelphia Catholic League), be named to the first team of the All-State team, and I definitely want to be on Team USA,” stated Bethea.
The Vikings (8-7) are coming off a 96-69 victory against Radnor (Pa.) Archbishop Carroll on Sunday, and Bethea is scoring 22 points per game on average.
