Nashville According to numerous reports, former Titans coach Mike Vrabel will meet with the leadership of the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers this week.
The Panthers and Falcons are two of the five NFL teams that are now looking for a new head coach. The Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington Commanders are the other teams without a head coach. Vrabel has already had a job interview with the Chargers. ESPN says that there have also been rumours that the Seahawks are interested in having Vrabel interview for the job.
The Titans’ owner, Amy Adams Strunk, declared on Wednesday that Brian Callahan will take over as head coach in lieu of Vrabel. While Antonio Pierce was named the full-time coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after previously serving as their interim coach, Vrabel’s former team, the New England Patriots, hired Jerod Mayo. One of the applicants who was interviewed for the head coach job with the Titans was Pierce.
During his six seasons as the Titans’ coach, Vrabel compiled a 54-45 record. In his second season in 2019, he led the Titans to the AFC Championship game and was named the 2021 NFL Coach of the Year.
After two losing seasons, including this season’s 6-11 record, the Titans terminated ties with Vrabel.
