The Toronto Raptors may not win many games in the next weeks due to the numerous deals that have surrounding this squad, but Darko Rajakovic has made this team worth watching. He has done a lot of good by implementing a more exciting offence, breaking the internet with his angry news conference, and fostering a pleasant environment.
Rajakovic was brought in to work with many of the team’s brightest young players and boost morale, and he has succeeded. Rajakovic has also demonstrated a strong emotional and charitable side to his nature, as evidenced by his response to Dejan Milojevic’s death and his continuous charitable spirit this season.
Rajakovic and his wife Gaga are contributing $20 to children’s hospitals including the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and a hospital in his hometown of Belgrade, Serbia. The Raptors’ pass-happy offence has done tremendous good for the globe as a result of this contribution directive.
The Raptors, who trail only the Pacers in assists per game this season (29.6), have raised $26,040 in support of these hospitals owing to Rajakovic’s generosity. Whatever happens on the floor, Rajakovic’s legacy as one of the Raptors’ most selfless players will live on.
