JUST IN: Cardinals proffer Scott County freshman athlete Timmy Emongo and why

The Class of 2027 in Kentucky features a plethora of potential Power Five prospects.

One of them is Scott County High School’s Timmy Emongo, who is coming off a successful freshman season with the Cardinals.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Emongo has some excellent stats and has already sparked some college attention. Emongo’s first offer came from Eastern Kentucky, and on Tuesday night he received his first Power Five offer from Louisville.

Emongo attended the Louisville Junior Day event, where he spoke with coaches at the football complex before attending the Louisville-Duke basketball game.

“The visit was amazing,” Emongo stated. “I liked the way the crowd behaved. The coaches were really courteous of me and my family. They were astounded by my footage and ability to produce big plays on the varsity level at such a young age. This is offer #2.”

Emongo, an athlete who can play on both sides of the ball, said he had a good conversation with University of Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm. He also stated in college that he feels he will be a wide receiver.

“I talked to Coach Brohm and he was very thankful that I was able to come,” he stated. “College football is an incredible experience. “I am extremely fortunate to be in this position.”

As a freshman, Emongo carried 20 times for 382 yards and five touchdowns and caught four catches for 83 yards and one touchdown. Scott County finished 9-3 on offence, rushing for 3,475 yards and throwing for 1,003 yards across 12 games.

Emongo also had two kickoff returns for touchdowns and finished with 22 defensive tackles, including an interception that he returned for a touchdown.
