JUST IN: The Four-star 2024 edge prospect lands commitment to Alabama football and also Kalen DeBoer’s second pledge to the Tides

The day after five-star wideout Ryan Williams recommitted to Alabama football, the Tide secured the second pledge during Kalen DeBoer’s brief stint. Noah Carter, a four-star 2024 edge prospect, announced the news on Thursday.

“Best birthday gift I can ask for,” Carter wrote on social media.
Carter had originally signed with DeBoer at Washington after playing high school football at Centennial in Arizona. Carter decommitted from the Huskies and followed DeBoer when he took over as coach of Alabama in Tuscaloosa to succeed Nick Saban.

The 247Sports aggregate rankings place him as the No. 22 edge rusher in his class.

“Uber athletic edge rusher with two-way production,” 247Sports mountain region recruiting analyst Blair Angulo wrote in his scouting report for Carter. “A versatile defender with excellent lateral movement. In chase, he demonstrates incredible bend and explosiveness. He thrives in stand-up roles that allow him to cross over blocks. He uses his quickness to the outside to apply rapid pressure on offensive tackles. Demonstrates the capacity to slip through creases and continue storming forward.

He requested and received a release from his national letter of intent in Washington. He signed during the early signing period in December.

Carter, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 228 pounds, spent the weekend in Tuscaloosa, where he posted photos on social media with DeBoer and other Crimson Tide players like as Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, and Jihaad Campbell.

During his senior high school season, he recorded 55 tackles and 11 sacks. On offence, he also scored eight receiving touchdowns.
