In just two weeks, the recruiting calendar for the 2025 class will change, and prospects from all around the nation, like cornerback Jamar Beal-Goines, are starting to arrange their future travel schedules.
There are plenty of potential travel places for the outstanding defensive back from Goodyear (Ariz.) Desert Edge, who has exceeded the dozen offer mark with a strong few days this week.
As he approaches his senior year, three-star Beal-Goines provided insight into the recruiting process following recent offers from schools including UCLA, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Utah.
Beal-Goines told 247Sports, “Recruiting has been going really well and it’s crazy because I wasn’t supposed to play much last season after getting hurt late in the summer.” After a few weeks, I was cleared, and I returned. That allowed me to put together some film for coaches, so I’m grateful for that.
“I’m enthusiastic and open to all of the choices. I am eager to visit several of these teams and get a closer look at some of them.
According to 247Sports, Beal-Goines is ranked as the 82nd best cornerback prospect in the country and the 11th best prospect overall in the state of Arizona for the 2025 class. He made Desert Edge’s trip to the Arizona 5A state title game possible.
As more West Coast programs join the picture, Beal-Goines stated he will examine a few of them more closely.
Beal-Goines stated, “Coach Dan Lanning was out here on Wednesday and they offered, so that was big.” It’s a substantial offer. They’ve been moving to a new conference, making some significant progress on the field, and coach Lanning exudes calmness. He is a coach for players, and from what I’ve heard, he basically asks them to be themselves and give their all to the team. Indeed, I would want to pay them a visit.
“Another significant one is Utah. Their cornerbacks are good, and they have produced a number of NFL players. Sammie Hunter and I have been corresponding via text regarding the Utes. Another important one for me was UCLA. I love California because of its wonderful beaches, university, and climate. I would like to go check them out because they have a strong football program as well.
Beal-Goines was being recruited by the Huskies’ new staff when they were in Arizona.
“It was cool to have them offer me now that they’re in Seattle because we already have a great relationship,” Beal-Goines remarked. “It has demonstrated to me that they genuinely value me.”
As a sophomore last spring, Beal-Goines set a personal record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.69. This following spring, he hopes to lower that to the 10.4 area.
“To make my decision, I’ll be doing track and hopefully visiting schools,” he declared. “I would like to know where I’m going by the end of summer before starting my senior season, but there is no timeframe yet.”
Beal-Goines has been credited with 48 total tackles and three interceptions over the course of the previous two varsity seasons.
