One of the Miami Hurricanes’ greatest players is scheduled to attend the NFL Combine.
The time is getting near for the best college prospects to travel to Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium to face off against one another as the NFL season comes to an end. In light of this, Miami has a lengthy history of having a large number of NFL players, and that number will rise in the current Draft.
Leonard Taylor III, a defensive tackle for the Canes, plans to attend this year’s Combine. The former Miami (Fla.) Palmetto graduate is one of the NFL Draft’s most sought-after defensive tackles after three seasons in Coral Gables.
The NFL Mock Draft Database projects the 305-pound, 6-foot-3 Taylor as a second-round pick. He just finished his junior year with 19 stops, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.
Here are some of the things that Fansided says Taylor excels in.
“Explosiveness: Taylor typically uses his powerful rip move or explosive first step to prevail in run defence or pass rush situations. There are moments when Taylor seems like a man among boys, putting centres and guards in his wake. Taylor has been employed head-up on the centre and is manoeuvrable enough to be lined up as a 4 or 5 method.”
In addition, Taylor is a player that encounters a lot of double teams when watching him play. That illustrates why his value exceeds what his stats would normally suggest. Taylor makes room for other linebackers and defensive linemen to make plays. The fact that he is expected to be selected in the first two rounds is not shocking given his combination of athleticism and the ability to push the pocket as a pass rusher.
