BREAKING NEWS: Real Heat’ For Ryan Day? Analyst Reveals Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day on Hot Seat

The Ohio State Buckeyes had a successful year in 2023, winning 11 games and qualifying for the New Year’s Six Bowl. However, those triumphs were marred by their third consecutive loss to Michigan and a dismal performance in the Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri. As a result, there is a lot of frustration among Ohio State fans about head coach Ryan Day’s performance.
According to ESPN’s Rece Davis, if Day does not win the Big Ten Conference and make a run in the 2024 12-team College Football Playoff, things may become difficult for the Buckeyes coach.

“I don’t believe there is real heat, nor should there be, on Ryan Day,” Davis said in a statement. “That said, there might be some real discontent if Ohio State, let’s say, doesn’t win the Big Ten, goes to the playoff and either loses a home game in the first round or loses in the quarterfinal, and you spent whatever the total ends up being and you don’t get more out of it than you had.” In Day’s defence, he has enjoyed remarkable success with the Buckeyes over his five years as head coach. Not only has he won the Big Ten twice and the Big Ten East three times, but he has also advanced to the College Football Playoff in three of his five years as head coach.

Not to mention that he is 39-3 in Big Ten play, with his only three defeats coming to Michigan. However, the aforementioned three-game losing run to the Wolverines is a difficult pill to chew for both decision-makers and program fans alike. And the fact that Michigan used its most recent loss to win a national championship makes things much more difficult for Scarlet and Grey fans. As a result, if Day loses his fourth consecutive game to the Wolverines in 2024, his seat may become more than a little hot.
