Zac Robinson and Jimmy Lake are accompanying Raheem Morris from the Los Angeles Rams to the Atlanta Falcons. On Monday, the Falcons introduced Robinson as their new offensive coordinator and Lake as their future defensive coordinator. Atlanta also announced the retention of Marquice Williams as special teams coordinator. Morris was the Rams’ defensive coordinator for the last three seasons before being appointed the Falcons’ next head coach last Thursday.
Robinson, 37, worked with Morris in Los Angeles for all three years. He joined the Rams as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019, then moved to assistant receivers coach in 2020 before returning to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021. In 2022, Los Angeles promoted him to the position of passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Lake, 47, was the University of Washington’s head coach in 2020 and 2021 until being fired before the end of his second season. He joined the Rams as an assistant head coach in 2023 and has previous experience coaching defence at the collegiate and NFL levels. Williams, 38, will return for his fourth season as Atlanta’s special teams coordinator. Two seasons ago, Atlanta scored two special teams touchdowns, one on a blocked punt and one on Cordarrelle Patterson’s 103-yard kick return. The Falcons have planned Morris’s introduction news conference for February 5.
