Ian Rapoport of NFL Network originally reported that Getsy would be in town for a second interview with the Saints.
Getsy has been linked to available offensive coordinator roles with the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, and the Saints.

Earlier this month, the Bears fired Getsy, along with quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko, receivers coach Tyke Tolbert, running backs coach Omar Young, and assistant tight ends coach Tim Zetts. With Getsy in charge of the offence, Chicago finished 23rd and 18th in points and 28th and 20th in yards per game the previous two seasons.

Getsy, a Munhall, Pennsylvania native and Steel Valley High School alumnus, began his college career at Pitt in 2003, where he earned a scholarship to play quarterback. After two years with the Panthers, he transferred to Akron, where he led the Zips to their first conference championship and bowl game berth in program history, breaking 24 school records.

Getsy worked as a graduate assistant for the Panthers in 2010 and has also coached at Akron, West Virginia Wesleyan, IUPUI, Western Michigan, and Mississippi State. He has also coached the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
