Rangers and Galatasaray appear to be about £2 million off in their valuations of Ridvan Yilmaz, with talks for the Turkey international continuing on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season.
While the Super Lig window will stay open until February 9th, Galatasaray understandably wants to finalize a deal as soon as possible. Rangers have until tonight to find a replacement for Ridvan Yilmaz, and Philippe Clement’s side may be wary of allowing him to return to Istanbul until Thursday’s deadline if no new left-back can be found.
According to Fotospor, the two sides are still about £2 million off in their valuations of the former Besiktas flier.
Rangers and Galatasaray are in talks for Ridvan Yilmaz, with the club seeking £4 million upfront or through a purchase clause following an initial loan period. Galatasaray are aiming to finalize a trade for around £2 million, although this appears to be wishful thinking.
Rangers are unlikely to accept such a large loss on a player who signed for £3.5 million in the summer of 2022. Furthermore, Yilmaz would leave in the midst of his best form for the Gers, impressing in Saturday’s 1-0 win over St Mirren after opening the scoring against Hibernian a few days previously.
“I think there’s still a chance he could have a future (at Ibrox),” former Rangers forward McCann tells BBC SportScene, after the 22-year-old converted a superb John Lundstram pass at Easter Road.
“If they don’t get a replacement, then I’d find it strange they’d let Ridvan Yilmaz walk out the door.
