The Miami Hurricanes, who have progressed more at the offensive line than any other position under Mario Cristobal’s leadership, announced on Friday that Class of 2025 prospect Lamar Williams, a 6-7, 280-pound offensive tackle from the Florida Panhandle, has committed in non-binding fashion. Williams rejected offers from Mississippi State, FSU, West Virginia, Maryland, and other universities in favour of UM. Williams is listed as a three-star recruit by On3.com but is not rated by 247 Sports.
However, recent inquiries from Power 5 universities imply that his recruiting service evaluations will increase. Tallahassee is sixteen miles away from Havana, where Williams attends Gadsden County High. Williams visited the UM campus last weekend and met with the Canes coach at his school earlier this week, which led him to choose the Canes over the Seminoles and other teams. Williams joins four-star Palm Beach Central wide receiver Waden Charles, three-star Georgia quarterback Luke Nickel, and three-star Kissimmee linebacker Elijah Menendez as UM’s fourth 2025 commitment. UM’s 2025 class is currently ranked 19th nationwide by 247 Sports.
