The Chicago Bears are in the same situation they were last year, with the first pick in the draft. This is only the seventh time this has happened in Super Bowl history. If teams are prepared to pay such expensive fees to obtain the young quarterback, it could be an indication that the Bears should choose him instead. The only reason teams are giving so much is that they believe Williams has the potential to become a superstar. Given the Bears’ tumultuous history at the position, it may be prudent to let him develop his potential in Chicago. Nobody questions his talent. The child has a fantastic arm, natural accuracy, exceptional improvisational abilities, and a fierce competitive spirit.
Much of this hinges on how wide the gap between Williams and the other two top quarterbacks is. Drake Maye is regarded as the most skilled quarterback in the class, with comparisons to Justin Herbert and Josh Allen. The concern is that he comes from a school (North Carolina) that previously burnt the Bears at quarterback. He also has a reputation as a gunman. Jayden Daniels earned the Heisman Trophy and runs with the same speed as Lamar Jackson. However, he is regarded as dangerously thin and does not have the strongest arm.
The approaching interview procedure this month appears to be decisive in one way or another.
