The Philadelphia Phillies still have time to acquire key elements that will aid their pursuit of a World Series championship before the new season begins. Dave Dombrowski has demonstrated that the offseason is not done for them until it is officially concluded.
Three of their finest players were added in March as free agents. There is still time if they want to do something. If Dombrowski and his front team decide to pursue the available choices, they will most likely try to upgrade the bullpen. Craig Kimbrel was a crucial piece for the team in 2023, regardless of how his stay ended in the playoffs, and his departure leaves a hole on the back end that must be replaced.
That’s perhaps why Philadelphia is still regarded as a team capable of putting together a trade package to get superstar closer Emmanuel Clase from the Cleveland Guardians.

Things did not go well in the tail end of games with the recently retired Craig Kimbrel, and there is no apparent alternative in sight,” says Brandon Scott of Bleacher Report. That follows another Bleacher Report writer’s statement that the Phillies should be considered a major contender for the superstar pitcher.
