ESPN TRADE UPDATE: Houston Texans Has Completed a $72 Million Blockbuster Trade Signing For WR to Form a Deadly Duo with CJ Stroud

The Houston Texans could use more weapons to aid young quarterback CJ Stroud, and they could get one by dealing for Stefon Diggs, a real No. 1 wide receiver from the Buffalo Bills.

Diggs’ name has appeared in several mock trades, so there is a decent chance Buffalo will consider moving the veteran wideout for the proper price. The real question now is what the Texans can offer to get the Bills to part ways with Diggs.

Houston Texans Sign CJ Stroud in Trade Proposal
When considering prospective trade packages for Diggs, Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report suggested that the requirements for a Texans deal be included.

The Texans will need to exchange their 2024 first-round pick (23rd overall) and fourth-round pick (123rd overall) for Diggs, which appears to be a win-win situation for both parties. Houston gains a veteran wideout who can help boost Stroud’s game, while the Bills receive draft cash to help retool the club.
Here’s what Moton wrote about the transaction:
With Diggs’ veteran knowledge and 68.8 percent catch rate, Stroud might pass for nearly 5,000 yards and 30 or more touchdowns.

Houston, like the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago, can obtain a true No. 1 receiver in return for first- and middle-round draft picks. Keep in mind that Brown was traded to Philadelphia for a first and third-round pick a few months before his 25th birthday.

Diggs may cost less than Brown due to his age, but his resume allows the Bills to command high draft money.

It remains to be seen whether the Texans can finalize a deal for Diggs this offseason. But if they succeed, it will undoubtedly be a huge lift for them.

There is reason to assume that CJ Stroud will be able to produce better stats with a weapon like Stefon Diggs on the Houston Texans offence.
Stroud finished his debut season with 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns on 63.9 percent pass completion. With only five interceptions, he established himself as one of the league’s most efficient quarterbacks.
Meanwhile, Diggs had 1183 yards and eight scores on 107 receptions. Given that this isn’t the best season for the Buffalo Bills wideout, it’s easy to picture him rebounding and having a stronger season if put in a setting he prefers.
Diggs, who is only 30 years old, should have plenty of time to contribute as a receiver and veteran for the Texans.
Of course, it’s unclear how much interest the Texans will have in Diggs, but there’s little reason not to be excited by the potential of adding a talented wideout like him.
