Despite rumours last week that Grubb was exploring a move to the NFL, he stressed that he will continue with his new role at Alabama. Here’s an excerpt from Will Miller’s article for BamaCentral:
It appears like we can cross another name off the Seattle Seahawks’ list of potential coordinators. This time, Ryan Grubb is accompanying former Washington Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa, where he will serve as Alabama’s offensive coordinator.
Ryan Grubb, a member of Tuscaloosa’s new coaching staff under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer, has lately been linked to the still-open offensive coordinator position with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. The most recent rumours have centred on former two-time NFL head coach Chip Kelly, and Grubb made it clear Wednesday that he will not be taking the job. When speaking at Yea Alabama’s National Signing Day event at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the 47-year-old identified himself as the new Crimson Tide offensive coordinator.
So we can rule out another name that has been associated with Seattle. The Seahawks are the only surviving team with an open Offensive Coordinator post, leaving them with voids in both coordinator positions… suffice to say, they still have some work to do this offseason.
