Dwight Freeney, a former Atlanta Falcons legend, has been named to the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, ensuring his legacy will live on in Canton, Ohio. Freeney, a former defensive end, spent 16 seasons in the NFL, including one with the Falcons. That was the 2016 season, when the Falcons advanced to the Super Bowl following an 11-5 regular season, but Tom Brady and the New England Patriots overturned a remarkable 28-3 halftime deficit.
Freeney recorded 10 tackles, four for a loss, three sacks, and ten quarterback hits in 15 games with the Falcons that season, his second-to-last. Freeney even made an impact in Super Bowl 51, when he sacked Brady. Beyond his stint in Atlanta, Freeney spent his first 11 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, where he recorded 107.5 of his 125 sacks, 316 of his 350 tackles, and 112 of his 148 quarterback hits. In the process, Freeney even helped the Colts win the Lombardi Trophy, defeating the Chicago Bears 29-17 in Super Bowl XLI.
