GOOD NEWS: Alabama Football alum congratulates Will Anderson Jr on his best award of the year

Will Anderson Jr. is the third player in Alabama football history to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, adding to the program’s rich list of achievements. Derrick Thomas and Anderson are the only other winners in the program’s history, along with its head coach, DeMeco Ryans.
One of the athletes who best represented what it meant to be a part of the Alabama football program deserves this award. In addition, Anderson was nominated for the PFWA All-Rookie Team and had Pro Bowl honours throughout his stellar rookie campaign.

Anderson finished the regular season with seven sacks and 29 tackles, then added a sack and four more in the postseason, despite missing time due to an ankle ailment and battling injuries the whole season. The Texans gambled heavily by moving up to acquire Anderson, and thus far, it has paid off, as Anderson has established himself as a vital member of the squad.

With 2024 approaching, Anderson hopes to become one of the top edge rushers in the NFL by increasing his sack total to ten or more. This is really only the tip of the iceberg for Anderson; we have seen his amazing work ethic and all the talent he possesses throughout his time at Alabama.
