JUST IN: Bleacher Report trade to turn Falcons into Super Bowl contenders

The Falcons have their offensive coordinator and head coach, but they still have the most crucial offseason assignment to complete.

The Falcons’ top three offseason priorities were selecting the right offensive coordinator and head coach. Both are secondary to finding the proper quarterback. There are very few instances of a team rising above subpar quarterback performance. Such a situation usually entails elite rosters surrounding them, such as Trent Dilfer and the Ravens. The Falcons lack a quarterback in a league where that position is essential.

Getting the best signal caller available, whether in the short or long term, should be the only thing on your mind. Not all of the possibilities are as available as they were a few months ago.

It appeared like the Falcons might be able to trade up for one of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels with a team like the Chargers, Cardinals, or another that had an experienced quarterback with a few weeks remaining in the season.

Additionally, it appeared as though the Falcons might easily sign a player like Baker Mayfield or Kirk Cousins in free agency, but it now appears likely that both players will return to their respective teams.

The Falcons may face difficult circumstances, but according to Bleacher Report, acquiring Justin Fields would elevate them to the rank of a serious contender—not just in the postseason but even among Super Bowl contenders.
