ESPN BREAKING NEWS: Texans Head Coach issues Key Injury Update on Fans Favourite and key Duo

Tank Dell, the Houston Texans’ promising rookie, began mild pool work in January to help him recuperate from a broken fibula. According to Will Kunkel of FOX 26 Houston, experts supervising Dell’s rehabilitation have stated that his recuperation is moving nicely. However, Kunkel underlined that Dell still has a long journey ahead of him. Especially given the stage of the season at which the injury occurred – Week 13 against the Denver Broncos.

Texans wide receiver Tank Dell returns from concussion: 'Getting Tank back is big for us'
Dell was injured on the back end of Dameon Pierce’s three-yard touchdown run, which gave Houston a 10-0 lead with about four minutes left in the first quarter. This sad injury ended Dell’s excellent streak of four straight games with at least eight targets, 50 yards, and one touchdown. “That one hurts a lot,” Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik said of the injury in December. “I am not a football player, and it has nothing to do with football. He is a truly unique child, and it has been a pleasure to have him around. It’s been a pleasure to have him be a part of what we’ve accomplished this year.

Regardless of the setback, Dell’s rookie season statistics demonstrated his promise. Dell established himself as a true star in the Texans offence, averaging 4.3 catches, 54.5 yards, and 0.64 touchdowns per game. Especially given that those figures were reached despite missing two games early in the season due to injury.

Excluding the games lost due to injury, Dell’s figures were even more impressive, with the rookie averaging 5.1 catches for 77.3 yards and 0.88 touchdowns on 8.5 targets per game. Looking ahead, the Houston offence appears to be on track for success, with C.J. Stroud throwing passes to Dell and Nico Collins, another breakthrough star from 2023.
