ESPN NEWS UPDATE: Alabama expected to promote tight ends coach Nick Sheridan to offensive coordinator

Kalen DeBoer continued to look internally for an offensive coordinator. According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Nick Sheridan, who joined Alabama’s staff as the tight ends coach, is expected to be moved to offensive coordinator.

Ryan Grubb, DeBoer’s offensive coordinator at Washington for the previous two seasons, left to play for the Seattle Seahawks; thus, Sheridan will take over.

No assistant coach hires made by DeBoer at Alabama have been announced as of yet. Grubb was followed to the Seahawks by Scott Huff, who was anticipated to be the offensive line coach for the Tide. It remains to be seen how the remainder of DeBoer’s staff is impacted by Sheridan’s promotion.
