BREAKING NEWS: Steelers Set to Land Justin Fields in Trade

Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers and Justin Fields are two players to keep an eye on. Over the last few days, speculation about Pittsburgh obtaining the Chicago Bears quarterback has increased, and there is now a proposed deal that makes a lot of sense. Pro Football Focus detailed their predicted moves this offseason, beginning with the Steelers trade for Fields. According to PFF, the Steelers are sending a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick to Chicago in exchange for Fields. Pittsburgh would assume the final year of his rookie contract in 2024 and his fifth-year option in 2025.

Justin Fields on uncertain Bears future: 'I know that God's got me'
“Pittsburgh is one team hoping for a true quarterback competition this offseason, with 2022 first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett not making the progress they had hoped through two years, eventually being replaced late in the season by third-stringer Mason Rudolph. Fields’ excellent athleticism provides a totally new aspect to a Steelers offence that was very boring in 2023, and he opens up the downfield passing game, which has been lacking,” PFF notes. The Steelers are the odds-on favourites to sign Fields this offseason, and there are apparently many fans of the young quarterback in the front office and coaching staff.
With a second-round pick on the line, Pittsburgh may see the move as a no-brainer, and Fields, at only 24 years old, may be the splash this team needs this offseason.
