ESPN NEWS NOW: Brown and NFL insider Details reveal that Browns are set to Sign Former Steeler QB

After the Super Bowl, the NFL’s next important event is the draft.

While each team is ready to choose players for the April event, they must also decide which veterans to keep and which to dump for the 2024 season.

The Cleveland Browns finished the season with Joe Flacco at quarterback, and many Browns supporters hope to see him return next year.

On Tuesday, Ken Carman of 92.3 The Fan tweeted that he doesn’t think that’s a good idea.

“The fan base wears Joe Flacco jerseys, so if Deshaun Watson has a bad pass, game, or quarter, there will be yelling.” But if they have 15 [Flacco] standing on the sidelines, it will be a little more tough.”

Instead of Flacco, Carman believes the Browns should sign Mitch Trubisky, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ backup quarterback.

The key reasons Carman wants Trubisky are that the quarterback is from Mentor, Ohio, and Carman does not believe people will cheer for Trubisky if Watson fails.

“If Mitch Trubisky does not see the field, he is just a local guy serving as the Browns’ backup quarterback. He’s a good athlete, and I’m sure he could run the offence. You can handle him.”

Trubisky attended Mentor High School and led the Fighting Cardinals in passing with 9,126 yards and 92 touchdowns.

He subsequently played collegiately for North Carolina before being picked by the Chicago Bears and later playing for Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
