BREAKING NEWS: Tigers Head Coach has Announced the Signing infielder, Former Brewers top prospect in a club Record Deal

The Detroit Tigers have signed Keston Hiura, a former Milwaukee Brewers infielder, to a minor league contract.

Hiura, the 59th player and 19th non-roster invitee in the Tigers’ camp, will return to Lakeland on Monday.

Hiura, 27, spent portions of four seasons in the major leagues with the Brewers, starting at second base and then shifting to first. He also has expertise as a corner outfielder.

Hiura was picked in the first round (9th overall) out of UC-Irvine in 2017 and was considered a top-20 prospect entering the 2019 season. He had an excellent rookie season, hitting 19 home runs in 348 plate appearances, but has struggled to match those levels in future seasons. He spent most of 2023 with the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate in Nashville.
