The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback position for 2024 is unclear, with Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph anticipated to face off this year despite NFL rumours linking the team to other options. If the decision were left to the Steelers’ players, it appears that it would have already been made.
Days into the 2024 NFL offseason, it’s clear that the Steelers are divided on their quarterback plans. According to recent reports, head coach Mike Tomlin has a strong interest in Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, who has been widely linked to NFL trade rumours this winter.

However, with the Bears’ front staff looking unwilling to sign a quarterback who would instantly take over the starting job, obtaining a player of that calibre is improbable. While Ryan Tannehill remains a possibility in NFL free agency, there appears to be a disagreement among the Steelers’ head staff and players on who should be the starting quarterback in 2024.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers’ locker room is “clamouring” for veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph to replace Pickett in 2024.
