DEAL AGREED: Minnesota Twins Are Set to Finalize a Deal in Reunion With Former Gold Glove CF

The Minnesota Twins are apparently still interested in bringing back outfielder Michael A. Taylor.

According to Bobby Nightengale Jr., the Twins’ reporter:

The Twins have not ruled out reuniting with free-agent centre fielder Michael A. Taylor, who was previously seeking a two-year contract. Adam Duvall, a right-handed batter with centre field expertise, is another potential option. Duvall hit.247 with 21 home runs, 58 RBI, and a.303 on-base percentage in 92 games for the Boston Red Sox last season, starting 56 of them in centre field.
The Twins’ offseason has been plagued by a desire to conserve money, but after dealing Jorge Polanco, they appear to have a little money left over.

He was also on the 2019 Nationals team that defeated the Houston Astros in the World Series. His Gold Glove arrived with the Royals.
He hit 21 home runs with the Twins in 2023 and drove in 51. He swiped 13 bases and remains a menace on the basepaths.

This offseason, the Twins added Anthony DeSclafani, Josh Staumont, and Carlos Santana to their roster, and they are coming off a 2023 American League Central championship. They should also get healthy seasons from Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis, which will help them improve even further.

They progressed to the American League Division Series last season, but were defeated in four games by the Houston Astros.
