Following two dismal seasons with the Denver Broncos, many expect veteran quarterback Russell Wilson will play elsewhere in 2024.
So it’s not surprising that Wilson just put his Colorado property for sale.
According to the Denver Post, the Broncos quarterback and his wife Ciara have been conducting tours of their property to potential buyers in recent weeks, which they bought $25 million for less than three years ago.
Before the start of the 2023 season, the Broncos hired Sean Payton as their new head coach.
Payton’s recent success with Drew Brees as head coach of the New Orleans Saints led some to feel he could help get the most out of Wilson in 2023.
However, it is far from the reality for the veteran quarterback on the field.
In 15 starts for Denver this season, Wilson completed 66.4 percent of his passes, averaged 204.7 passing yards per game, threw 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, and ended with a 98.0 quarterback rating.
So, on the surface, Wilson’s numbers in 2023 weren’t very poor, so it was surprising when the Broncos decided to bench him with two games left on their regular-season schedule.
We had no idea that this move would likely mark the end of Wilson’s time in Denver.
Things could change in the coming weeks, but everything appears to point to the former Super Bowl winner playing in a non-Broncos outfit next season.
