BREAKING NEWS: Hugh Freeze’s stay in Auburn takes shape as Tigers officially announces slew of hires, promotions and analyst staffto recruiting

Hugh Freeze’s second-year Auburn football staff continues to take shape, with the team officially announcing the signings and promotions of 11 members of the recruiting and analytic staff on Monday afternoon.
Monday’s announcement included Kenyatta Watson as Auburn’s director of recruiting research and strategy, as well as Maurice Harris as director of football and recruiting relations.
Watson brings the Tigers a well-known reputation from the Atlanta area, where he spent more than a decade cultivating football talent. Watson most recently served as Georgia Tech’s director of scouting and professional liaison.

Meanwhile, Harris returns to The Plains for the second time after spending five seasons at Ole Miss as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator, and four seasons at Liberty as Freeze’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. Harris’ employment at Auburn comes after he spent the 2023 season as Jackson State’s offensive coordinator.

Auburn grad Aaron Pittard was promoted to assistant director of player personnel after serving as a player personnel analyst last fall, while TJ Randall was hired as assistant director of player personnel and scouting, according to Monday’s statement. Randall joined Auburn after previously working for Freeze at Liberty.

Auburn also announced the hiring of Haylee Brown as a hospitality graduate assistant. According to Brown’s LinkedIn profile, she formerly worked as a football recruiting assistant at Liberty University, where she graduated this spring.
Auburn has promoted Paxton Montgomery to special teams and defensive analyst after serving as a special teams intern last fall, and Sammy Cohen to defensive analyst after serving as a defensive intern in 2023.

Auburn’s analyst staff now includes former Arkansas defensive back Rohan Gaines, former Maryland defensive lineman Brett Kulka and Buddy Brosky as defensive analysts, and Heath DeDeaux as an offensive graduate assistant.
