Florida football has just strengthened their frontline. The Gators have received the commitment of four-star inside offensive lineman Peyton Joseph. Joseph, a class of 2025 recruit, chose Florida over Florida State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Joseph stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 305 pounds, making him a top-five IOL recruit in his class. In addition, the guard is ranked 123rd in the nation and 18th in his home state of Georgia.
When asked what made him choose the Gators, the Houston County native cited the program’s development as a major factor in his decision.
“Mostly talking with coach (Billy) Napier and (Rob) Sale led me to commit because they have shown great program development,” Joseph told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “UF is on the way to the top and I feel like as a player I would love to be a part of the process.”
In 2023, Florida football started the season strong, going 5-2 by the middle of October. However, the Gators would lose their final five games, finishing the season in disappointment.
Still, the addition of Peyton Joseph will provide extra protection for star quarterback Graham Mertz, who chose to return to Florida football for his final year of eligibility. Joseph joins a top-10 Florida recruiting class that includes four-star recruits such as defensive tackle Jalen Wiggins and running back Waletz Clark.
With more talent entering the picture, Billy Napier and the Gators have a better opportunity of being one of the SEC’s best teams in 2024.
