According to local sources, Sean Payton has a soft spot for J.J. McCarthy. [Payton] wants the next Drew Brees. So keep that in mind when you’re thinking 11, and if you’re thinking J.J. McCarthy has risen in the NFL Draft rankings in recent weeks after leading the Wolverines to the national championship this season. In our most recent mock draft, he is projected to go 11th overall to the Vikings.

Denver presently holds the 12th pick in the first round of the annual tournament. Perhaps the organization believes a move up from that position to jump the Vikings is in the cards.

J.J. McCarthy numbers (2023): 72.3% completion, 2,991 passing yards, 202 rushing yards, 25 total touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.
As you can see, McCarthy was very effective for Michigan last season. He improved dramatically under current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
